通过对草原樱桃与欧洲甜樱桃种间远缘杂交及草原樱桃品种间杂交后花粉管行为的荧光观察发现，草原樱桃品种间杂交授粉后花粉在柱头上能正常萌发生长，花粉管沿花柱到达胚珠完成受精过程，平均座果率为27％。
